Week 1
As I was doing research for the banner assignment I had trouble coming up with a subject/product to advertise when it hit me. CIGARETTES! No one makes ads for cigarettes anymore(they pretty much sell themselves, either you're gonna buy them or you aren't). I then came up with my own ficticious brand "Black Lung Cigarettes" and began researching classic cigarette ads.
In my research I found some pretty great collections of classic and modern ads here, here, and here.
I also found some banner ads on cigarette whole sale sites. Here are a few examples.
My banner's target audience will be the smoker who prefers a more natural, sophisticated cigarette. The style and design of the banner will reflect the old magazine ads of yesteryear, thus attracting a more hip and trendy audience.
